Atelier Funfrock
Family upholstery workshop on rue Plati since 2014, supplier to palaces, yachts and the Prince's Palace.
Atelier Funfrock is an upholstery workshop at 35 rue Plati, in La Condamine. It works on seating, hangings and leather covering, for private clients as well as palaces, yachts and Principality institutions.
What the record documents
The story begins in Alsace: the family trade started in 1958, and Pascal Funfrock took over the business in 1994 before opening a second workshop in Monaco in 2014. The choice of rue Plati — a narrow street in the old quarter — is not random: it is a workshop, not a shop window.
In 2026, the house crosses a threshold of public recognition: the Diocese of Monaco commissions chairs for the Pope and the Princely Family for Pope Leo XIV’s visit. Two papal armchairs, ten renovated prie-dieux and six Louis XVI chairs leave the workshop. Local and regional press tell the story, and the son Florian appears beside his father: succession is under way.
Why it is archived
This is the kind of business Memoria wants to make visible: essential to the Principality’s palaces and yachts, but with no window on avenue Princesse Grace. A craft that settles in 2014 and equips the Palace in 2026 deserves its date in the archive.
