The Théâtre Princesse Grace is the Principality’s comedy theatre, at 12 avenue d’Ostende. It arose from the restoration of the Théâtre des Beaux-Arts and a princely inauguration dated precisely: 17 December 1981.

The culture.mc site documents both the project (reviving comedy in Monaco, reworking acoustics and dressing rooms) and the 1981 ceremony. Associative management was then framed by ordinances in 1984.

Opening of the Théâtre Princesse Grace

On Princess Grace's initiative, Prince Rainier III had the Théâtre des Beaux-Arts restored; the princely couple inaugurated the theatre bearing her name on 17 December 1981 and attended the gala evening prepared by artistic director Raymond Gérôme.
