SMEG is the legal entity holding the concession for the public service of distribution of electricity and natural gas in the Principality. Memoria treats it as a network operator, distinct from any retail businesses (“La Boutique by SMEG”, etc.).

Current concession

The 2010 treaty, established by Ordinance No. 2.578, places the concession in a unified electricity + gas framework, with specifications published in the Journal de Monaco. The convening meetings for the years 2010-2020 set the headquarters at 10 avenue de Fontvieille and recall the capital of the SAM.

Previous lines

Before this overhaul, the Principality published amendments to a historic treaty of the Société Monégasque d’Electrcité (ordinances from the 1950s-1960s). Memoria has not, in this pass, reconstituted the merger or the change of name point by point: the chronology may be extended via other issues of the Journal.
