Moncrief Private Bank (Monaco)
Monegasque private bank, formerly Banque Havilland (Monaco), bought in 2025 by a consortium and renamed Moncrief Private Bank by ministerial decree of July 10, 2025.
In August 2025, one of the Principality’s private banks changed its name and shareholder in a few weeks. Banque Havilland (Monaco) was bought by a consortium, the operation being approved by both the Monegasque CCAF and the French ACPR; the change of name to Moncrief Private Bank (Monaco) was approved by ministerial decree of July 10, 2025 and published in the Journal de Monaco on August 22.
Two authorities for a single operation
The detail is worth noting, because it explains the architecture of financial control in Monaco: the same acquisition requires the agreement of the Monegasque authority for financial activities and the French authority for banking activities. It is the concrete translation of a sharing of skills that Memoria recalls on each bank card.
The first balance sheet published under the new name, as of December 31, 2025, appears in the Journal de Monaco in August 2026: capital of 27,000,000 euros, headquarters at 3/9 boulevard des Moulins. Memoria retains the address as it appears in this official publication.
A method point
The CCAF attaches initial approval no. 2008-04 to July 14, 2008 for this entity. Memoria cites this number and this date without reconstituting the name that the company then bore: the documents consulted do not allow this to be established.
